Reflecting on Settlement Week

Last week I had the opportunity to volunteer as a Mediator at the Lake County Court of Common Pleas. The Lake County Bar Association puts on "Settlement Week" every year, where local attorneys volunteer their time to help try to get pending cases settled. I was assigned four car accident cases, and was able to help 2 of those 4 resolve. It feels good helping people work through their differences, and it's always very interesting to observe other attorneys (especially when you're not on the hot seat against them).
