For the last book in National Reading Month, I'm discussing Can't Hurt Me by David Goggins. As I've talked about quite a bit, last year I trained for and completed the Northern Ohio Marathon in Mentor, Ohio. While I was training, I read this highly motivational book about mental toughness, and I'm so glad that I did. My backstory cannot compare to his - but he has valuable lessons for anyone about mental toughness. I know I wouldn't have finished my marathon without reading this book. At mile 19 my hip felt like it exploded, and I had to run the last 7 miles in excruciating pain. But, thanks in large part to this book about mental toughness, I was able to run across the finish line and show my cheering kids about perseverance. That said, I'm not signing up for any more marathons any time soon!
